Our Story
The Tile Style started at a kitchen table—founded by two generations and four women: a mother and daughter, alongside a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. What began as learning mahjong together quickly became something more. It wasn’t just a game—it was time carved out to connect. The rhythm of tiles, laughter, strategy, and conversation reminded us how good it feels to be fully present with people we care about.
We built The Tile Style to create more of those moments.
At the heart of our brand is a thoughtfully curated assortment of modern mahjong tiles, accessories, and hosting essentials—sourced across brands and styles so you can mix, match, and create a table that feels uniquely your own. We believe your mahjong setup should reflect your personal style just as much as it supports the way you play.
Our goal is simple: to make mahjong welcoming, beautiful, and accessible. Through curated products, beginner-friendly lessons, and lively gatherings, we’re creating spaces where women—and anyone drawn to the table—can slow down, connect, and build community.
Four women. Two generations. One table.

The One Bringing Everyone to the Table
I’ve always been the one pulling people together — making the plans, planning the trips, filling the calendar, and making sure nothing stays “someday.” As a nurse practitioner and mom to two littles, life is busy, a little chaotic, and always moving, but caring for people has always been at the center of everything I do. Mahjong came into my life as a natural extension of that same instinct. What started as a game became a reason to gather, slow down, and be fully present with the people I love. I love creating tables where people can laugh, learn, connect, and stay a little longer than they planned. With The Tile Style, I get to keep doing what I’ve always loved most — bringing people together and turning ordinary nights into something special.

Making Sure the Tiles (and Bills) Stay in Line
I had plans. So. Many. Plans.
After 40 years with a global IT consulting and outsourcing company, I retired with plans for slower days filled with family, reading, cooking, baking, golfing, and learning new things. Mahjong was supposed to be just one small hobby along the way — until it quickly became much more than that. What started as open plays and recruiting friends to learn the game turned into a real love for the community, connection, and fun that happens around the table. When Sue, my friend of 50+ years and Mahjong partner-in-crime, came to me with the idea to start a Mahjong business, I was all in — especially when she mentioned cool tiles. Before long, the four of us came together to create The Tile Style, and what started as a shared love of the game became a business built around gathering, friendship, and making space for joy in everyday life.

Behind the Scenes & In Your Inbox
Between work, kids, schedules, and the constant mental list of everything needed to keep life moving, I’m usually the one making it all happen. Mahjong came into my life during a quiet holiday night with my mom, and it quickly became more than just a game. It became a way to slow down, be present, and tune out the noise for a little while. I love creating warm, welcoming tables where people can relax, connect, laugh, and simply enjoy being together — something I think a lot of us are craving these days. So when my mom came to me with the idea to start The Tile Style, I thought, “why not?”

The Treasure Hunter of the Group
I’ve always been a leap‑first kind of person — and that’s exactly how The Tile Style began. After 40 years in furniture sales, one Mahjong class at a local gift shop lit me up. Retail felt fun again: the colors, the textures, the people, the energy.
And because I’m a lifelong shopper obsessed with finding the best value, the mission came naturally: beautiful design and value, always.
But the very best part? I get to build this with my daughter and good friends — the people who make every leap worth taking.
